Happy Aniversary

Eleven years ago today, I married my soul mate. We had met at a trade show in Washington DC. Our first date was to see the Gin Blossoms at Great Adventure. Our first kiss was in a park in Westchester along the Hudson river. The first thing she cooked for me was linguine with clams sauce at her parents condo. The first time I told her I loved her was on Christmas eve.
See honey I may not remember to replace the toilet paper but I remember the important stuff.

Since then we had 2 houses, 6 cars, 5 cats( 2 are still with us) a dog, a hamster and most of all 2 wonderful little girls.

On her blog www.smalltownmommy.com she listed the top ten reasons why I was her perfect mate. I think its only fitting I do the same.
They are in no particular order...

10. She is not into fancy jewelry or stuff like that. For our anniversary I got her a printer-copy-fax machine. If I had given that to any other woman I would be sleeping on the couch (Nothing says I love you like a printer-copier-fax machine). But my wife saw it for what it was, something she needed for new venture and that I was behind her all the way with it.

9. She works hard all day and still finds time to make us dinner, do laundry and keep the house running.

8. She cleans the cat box. Nothing more to say about that

7. She is a wonderful mother. My girls are going to grow up beautiful, smart and successful, and that's mostly due to her.

6. We like the same TV, Movies and entertainment. (Vampire shows, teenage dramas, and even Sci fi) We are also B52s groupies

5 . She let me take her out of the big city life to live in this small town out in the country.

4. She is a geek jut like me and in some cases even more!

3. Gadgets! Although she likes different kinds. I like all kind of electronics. She likes all kinds of kitchen things. She is also addicted to sweeping products.

2. She is my conscience. If it wasn't for her I would be up to my eyeballs in debt, buying every toy known to man. She keeps me on track, yet still lets me have my fun.

1. We can read each others mind. There are so many times I am am thinking or about to say something and she beats me to the punch.

So here we are 11 years later after saying our "I do's" Its been a great ride and I look forward to many many more years to come.

Happy
Anniversary sweatheart.

I love you.

Why am I here...

A few months ago my wife started a blog called Small Town Mommy. Its a very interesting blog about our life in a small town, our girls, our cats and mostly her view in general on everything from laundry to politics.
Now I have to say about 99% of the time I agree with my wife. I will be the first to admit she is smarter then me in many ways, which is one of the reasons why I married her. She is a wonderfull wife and an awesome mother. She has even been "out geeking" me lately, which is no easy feat. Around here I am known as our neighborhood tech support guy, but I will elaborate more on that in another post.
So why I am here you ask. I guess it was when I read her last post. It was three paragraphs of her complaining on how she is the only one in the world who changes the toiler paper roll and how frustrated she was. My first thought was "Hey, I change the toilet paper too!" followed by a feeling helpless. There she is telling the world about my laziness and me being unable to defend myself. So here I am to say, I do change the toilet paper roll from time to time, maybe not as often as she does AND I also use it to wipe my 5 year old Joanna's butt. You will need to read my wifes's post to understand what I mean by that.
Why should my wife have all the say and all the fun? I may not write as well as she does (as you probally already noticed) but I do have perspective on things as well. I have things to say and stories to tell. It is cheaper then therapy!
